The Buganda Bumu North American Convention 2025 (BBNAC’25) is set to head to Boston, Massachusetts from May 23th to May 26th in what will be the biggest memorial day celebration of 2025, marking a significant 10-year anniversary of the convention. Hosted by Ggwanga Mujje Boston, this milestone event will return to Massachusetts, where BBNAC was first inaugurated in 2015.
This year’s convention will be held at the new upscale Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport, a premier venue offering stunning city and harbor views, a heated rooftop pool, world-class dining, and easy access to Boston’s historic and cultural attractions including the Boston Convention Center. Under the theme – Confronting the Challenges of Mental Health and HIV/AIDS (Okwaŋŋaanga Okusoomoozebwa Kwendwadde;Omutwe ne Mukenenya), BBNAC’25 will focus on raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and finding solutions to issues impacting communities in both North America and Uganda.
The event will also highlight the achievements of Kabaka’s subjects living abroad and their contributions through BBNAC and its member associations. Attendees can look forward to engaging panel discussions, networking sessions, cultural celebrations, and entertainment, all designed to strengthen ties within the diaspora and support development initiatives in Buganda and Uganda at large.
Beyond the convention, visitors will have a chance to explore Boston’s vibrant cultural scene, from its world-renowned universities like Harvard and MIT to its historical landmarks and museums. Exciting activities, including the famous Boston Duck Tours, will offer a unique way to experience the city’s rich history. BBNAC’25 promises to be an unforgettable gathering, blending learning, culture, and community-building.
