US, Uganda Deepen Partnership on Trade, Security and Infrastructure – Following Minister Adonia’s Visit to State Dept

The United States and Uganda are looking to deepen their growing partnership, with discussions focusing on trade, technology, security and infrastructure.

US Assistant Secretary Frank Garcia and Uganda’s new Foreign Minister Adonia Ayebare met to advance shared priorities between the two countries, including Uganda Airlines’ aircraft deal with Boeing and the expanding reach of Starlink in Uganda.

The discussions also covered deeper security cooperation and the potential for US-built infrastructure to support economic growth in Uganda and the wider East African region.

The US Department of State said Washington looks forward to advancing shared priorities with Uganda, describing the country as an important East African partner.
