By Canada has extended temporary public health measures for travellers arriving from Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and South Sudan until November 27, 2026.
The measures apply to people who have been in any of the three countries within the 21 days before arriving in Canada, according to the Government of Canada’s updated travel advisory issued on September 28.
Canadian citizens and permanent residents who have no symptoms of Ebola upon arrival are required to quarantine for 21 days and monitor their health daily.
Travellers who develop symptoms of Ebola upon arrival will undergo medical assessment and may be placed in isolation at a medical facility or another appropriate location.
The measures remain in place despite Uganda having declared its 2026 Ebola outbreak over on July 28, 2026, following the completion of the required monitoring period without new cases.
Travellers from Uganda planning to enter Canada are advised to check the latest requirements before departure.
