The 3rd Uganda Diaspora New England Business Expo & Independence Festival Highlights – 2025 Edition
  • The 3rd Annual Uganda Diaspora New England Business Expo and Independence Festival, was held on Columbus Day weekend 2025 last year, the venue was the American Legion Nonantum Post 440, located at 295 California St. Newton, MA 02458, USA from Saturday, October 11th to Sunday, October 12th, coinciding with Uganda’s 63rd Independence celebration. The Guest of honor was the Waltham City Mayor Jannette McCarthy who also presided over the swearing in of the new administration of the Uganda Boston Community Association.

    The one event held on two days saw a Business Breakfast event at the french club in Waltham, saw many Ugandans get their NIRA registration for National IDS and Passports. The event was organized by Uganda Diaspora Network in collaboration with the Uganda Boston Community Association, BBS Television was the social media partner in Uganda. Other partners included Uganda Boston-based media companies. New England is home to the largest concentration of Ugandans in the Northern Hemisphere.

Despite the inclement weather challenges, the two-day celebration attracted an impressive audience of over 1,000 registration for NIRA national IDs and Passport Renewal services were also on offer by both the team from New York and Washington Embassies. The Mayor of Waltham attended, The New UBCA executive was also sworn in for a second term.
