As the world turns its eyes to New York and New Jersey for the FIFA World Cup Final, Ugandans are preparing to make their own mark off the pitch.
On July 25–26, 2026, the Uganda Tristate Community Association will host the inaugural Uganda Culture and Community Festival, a first-of-its-kind gathering for Ugandans, friends, and well-wishers traveling to the United States for football’s biggest event.

Held at the Hilton Hasbrouck Heights, near MetLife Stadium, the festival will bring together culture, business, and community in one vibrant space.
UTCA President Mildred Ssennyondo describes it as a unique opportunity for Ugandans in the diaspora to connect, celebrate their identity, and feel at home, while also creating a platform for businesses from Uganda and the U.S. to showcase and engage.
The festival will also attract key diaspora leaders and influencers, including representatives such as Ronnie Mayanja, the founder of the Uganda Diaspora Network and other prominent figures, further strengthening its role as a hub for collaboration.
Beyond celebration, the event positions itself as a strategic bridge between diaspora communities and investment opportunities, tapping into the growing economic influence of Ugandans abroad.

The two-day experience will feature a Business Breakfast to spark partnerships and cross-border investment, and will culminate in a Dinner and Dance headlined by DJ Mondi, promising a nostalgic yet energetic atmosphere.
In a World Cup season defined by global pride, Ugandans in the Tri-State area will be celebrating something just as powerful, their culture, unity and the enduring spirit of home.
Be there. Be proud. Be Ugandan.
