By Ugandan-born Professor Godfrey Kyazze is turning waste into opportunity through groundbreaking work in biotechnology at the University of Westminster in the UK.
His research uses tiny living cells to clean water, generate electricity and produce hydrogen fuel, offering innovative ways to address some of the world’s pressing environmental challenges without harming the planet.
Kyazze’s technologies support global efforts towards safe water, clean energy and sustainable living. His inventions include 3D-printed electrodes designed to improve desalination, as well as smart compounds that help bacteria produce more power.
Raised in Uganda, trained in the UK and shaped by experience in industry, Kyazze brings a practical perspective to scientific challenges, looking at problems from both the laboratory and real-world angles.
